Peppermint Essential Oil - Properties

Peppermint essential oil has a bright, intensely minty aroma that refreshes and helps lift energy and focus during the day.

As a cosmetic ingredient it is popular for oily and blemish-prone skin: it does not clog pores and helps regulate sebum and the activity of the sebaceous glands.

Its cool, minty scent is also a favourite for diffusers and inhalation, and in aromatherapy it is often used to support a calm, focused mood.

Origin

Peppermint is a hybrid of spearmint and water mint, believed to have originated in England. This oil is produced in Poland.

How to Use

Recommended use: massage, bath, inhalation, diffuser.

Dilution: for skin use such as massage, dilute to 1-2% in a carrier oil (about 2-3 drops per 10 ml).

Precautions

Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes. Not for internal use. Do not use on wounds or irritated skin. Use with caution during pregnancy and with children. Always do a patch test on a small area of skin before first use. May irritate mucous membranes. Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
