Bilovit Wooden Candle Wicks with Sustainers, 10 cm - 10 Pieces

Bilovit Wooden Candle Wicks with Sustainers are flat wicks made of natural wood, 10 cm tall, with metal sustainers that hold each wick at the bottom of the vessel. The wick is stable, smokeless and odourless. Suitable for candles made of wax or paraffin.

About the product

These flat wicks are made of natural wood. Each one is 100 mm tall and 10 mm wide. The metal sustainer, also known as the wick tab, fixes the wick to the bottom of the vessel.

The set contains 10 pieces in a doypack pouch measuring 80 x 120 mm (width x height).

• flat wick made of natural wood
• wick size 10 x 100 mm (width x height)
• metal sustainer (wick tab)
• stable, smokeless and odourless wick
• 10 pieces in one pack

Intended use

The wicks are used for making candles from wax or paraffin. Choose the wick to suit the width of the vessel. In wider candles a second wick may be needed, joined to the first one or placed next to it.

How to use

1. Place the wick in the metal sustainer and attach it to the bottom of the candle holder.
2. Pour wax or paraffin into the vessel. The wick should stand about 1 cm above the surface of the wax. If it is longer, trim it.
3. Wait until the candle sets. It is best to let it cool at room temperature so the wax or paraffin does not crack.
4. Light the wick. If it goes out before the flame reaches the wax, try again.
5. Keep a burning candle away from drafts, for example from a window, so that wax pools do not form.
6. Trim the charred part of the wick before relighting.

You can improve burning by soaking the wicks in melted wax or paraffin to impregnate them.

Material

The wick is made of wood and the sustainer is made of metal.
