About the product

Sadvit is a family-run press from Magierowa Wola near Warka, Poland, making juices purely from fruit and vegetables - no water, sugar or flavour enhancers.

Sea buckthorn is a heavily branched shrub that originally spread from deep inside Russia and now also grows in Poland. Its berries are small and intensely sour, so they're rarely eaten raw - juice is the way to actually drink them.

The juice is made cold, using the NFC method, and is only pasteurised - it isn't concentrated or reconstituted. It takes around 1.7 kg of raw fruit per litre of juice, so each 240 ml bottle holds more than 400 g of berries.

The flavour is distinctly sour, with a faint resinous note. It's rarely drunk on its own - more often it goes into tea, a cocktail or a homemade liqueur.

How to use

1. Shake the bottle - the cloudiness and sediment are natural.
2. Add a spoonful to hot or cold tea.
3. Use as a sour base for a cocktail, syrup or homemade liqueur.
4. Drunk on its own it's very sour - dilute with water or apple juice.

Storage

Store in a dry, shaded place at 2-20°C. Once opened, keep the bottle in the fridge and use the juice within 48 hours - without preservatives it won't keep any longer.
