Ziółko Dried Oregano Leaves are the leaves of common oregano (Origanum vulgare), also known as ‘wild marjoram’. Once dried and crushed, they retain their aromatic, peppery and spicy flavour with a subtle bitterness.
Oregano is an indispensable ingredient in Italian and Greek cuisine. It forms a classic combination with tomatoes, courgettes, peppers, aubergines and garlic. It goes well with egg and cheese dishes (mozzarella, feta), and enhances the flavour of minestrone, stews, sauces and pizza. In Greek cuisine, it is a staple spice for souvlaki and meat marinades.

Usage
A seasoning for Italian and Greek dishes: pizza, tomato sauces, pasta arrabbiata, lasagne, dishes with mozzarella and feta, souvlaki, and marinades for meat and fish. It also works wonderfully in stews, minestrone soup, salads with feta, and for flavouring olive oil.
Directions
Add at the start of cooking sauces (the flavour develops during simmering), sprinkle on pizza before baking, add to marinades along with garlic and olive oil. Typical serving: 1/2–1 teaspoon per 4 servings. It pairs well with basil, thyme, garlic, paprika and black pepper.
Storage
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place, away from light, moisture and foreign odours.
